Kitsaki and March Consulting come together creating Canada’s largest majority Indigenous-owned engineering firm

Kitsaki Management’s 51% majority ownership deepens a decade-long partnership and opens new pathways for Indigenous professionals in STEM.

SASKATOON, SK — Kitsaki Management Limited Partnership (KMLP), the economic development arm of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB), and March have signed a definitive agreement to form March Consulting LP (March), with Kitsaki as the majority shareholder at 51% ownership, making March the largest majority Indigenous-owned engineering and project management firm in Canada.

This milestone deepens a partnership built on more than a decade of shared growth. Kitsaki first invested in March in 2014, and this expanded ownership is a natural next step in a relationship that has only strengthened over time.

“This transaction reflects exactly the kind of long-term, value-creating investment that Kitsaki exists to make,” said Ron Hyggen, CEO, Kitsaki Management. “March is a firm with exceptional talent, an outstanding reputation, and a proven track record. Becoming the majority owner means we can help that team grow, serve more clients, and create real opportunity for Indigenous people in professional and STEM careers.”

“Kitsaki has been a true partner, not just an investor. This next chapter offers us something that is impossible to engineer: a genuine and sincere alignment between our business goals and our values.” said Ritu Malhotra, President and CEO of March. “We are proud to be a 51% Indigenous-owned firm, and this exciting milestone reflects our shared commitment to prosperity and responsible growth, not only for our business, but for our clients, our communities and our team.

“This is an incredible opportunity for Kitsaki and March, while also helping to create more pathways for our band members, for other First Nations, and more Indigenous Peoples into the field of sciences, especially engineering,” said Lac La Ronge Indian Band Chief Tammy Cook-Searson. “It’s also saying to them that they belong in these spaces and finding innovative ways to increase the number of Indigenous People in STEM careers.

All client agreements, employees, and operations continue under March Consulting LP without interruption.
